“Peter and Alice”, a play by John Logan (Noël Coward Theatre London, 2013)
This. Even on paper it’s undeniably powerful and devastating. I keep recalling Ben and Judi’s performance of this so vividly; their voices reverberating in my head. Such a perfect ending, leaving me in shivers and tears. Unforgettable.

So today Angelina Jolie had double mastectomy, which is the removal of one’s breasts, to prevent Breast cancer. So instead of praising Angelina on her bravery, men on Twitter decided to ridicule her, even calling her stupid for removing her breasts. For those of you on Tumblr that are attacking Feminists for being delusional about sexism against women and misogyny here’s your fucking proof that sexism and misogyny exists.

Our celebrity obsessed culture may be a joke but breast cancer definitely isn’t - nearly 500,000 people die from it every year. Angelina Jolie’s doctors estimated she had an 87% risk of developing breast cancer and a 50% risk of developing ovarian cancer because she carries the common gene mutation that causes both. Her mother died at the age of 56 after a long battle with cancer as well. My own mother had both breast and ovarian cancer within a couple short years and let me tell you, it’s about the least funny thing in the world to watch someone suffer from.

Valuing someone’s body parts you sexualized over their life and humanity goes beyond sexism, it’s sub-human.

Millions of middle aged men and women will dust off the old toy wands
the browning pages of books long forgotten
strange cloaks, black rimmed glasses that havent been worn in decades
and those men and women will hold vigils in the streets
as a soft, sad melody echoes around the crying faces
“Hedwig’s Theme”
And the halls of Hogwarts will spring to life again
as those same men and women go home to their families
and hold their children, who don’t know who Harry Potter is
and begin
to read.

It’s eight in the morning and im crying thanks tumblr.

Camera Project Update

thetravelinglemon:

Another call for names for the camera project!

If you’ve missed this, I’m sending a camera to Ben Whishaw after he mentioned in this interview that he loves photography. The camera is a 1950s Coronet Commander. I am adding a letter with it in which I am writing names of fans of #SaveTheHour, so if you want your name on the list, send me an ask :) (blog name or real name…)

We currently have 35 names - I’m really excited by the response to this! Thank you!

Woman takes a photo of herself every day for a year, chronicling the affects of an abusive relationship.

This is fucking heartbreaking. You can see the happiness and hope slip from her eyes with every shot.

tw domestic abuse

this is heartbreaking tbh

Don’t stop reblogging. Women are better than this to stay with men who do this. Stay strong. Know your worth.
